Highlights for Magellan class 29th June 2015

A very hot week – felt like we were going to melt.

Thank you to those able to come along to the Y5/6 Sports Afternoon.  The rain at the end was very refreshing.  Good competitive spirit was shown and a big thank you to Ms Matthews for organising such a super event.

Y6 went to Thorpe High school for a music and drama event and enjoyed watching the High School’s performance of Oliver.  D&T morning next Wednesday – Y6 need to make their own way to Thorpe and we will collect them at 10.30 and bring them back to school.

Y5 had a morning of music and movement.  They created some truly wonderful dances link to Holst’s Mars the Bringer of War.  We videoed their final dance and the children evaluated their own performances.

They have finished their writing on the Hajj and we’ll now move onto the life of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).

We are continuing our work on the Planets Video – the children will now have a free choice of writing genre for their next writing.

In Maths we have continued our work on problem solving – some great activities on the site mathsanarachy.com.

Music with Mrs Norris focused on rhythm and beat.

Y6 cycling next week for those selected – they’ll need their bikes on Monday.  They are very strict on safety so please check brakes etc.

Have a super weekend.
